Nancy Gardner got her MFA in Ceramics in 1984 and began teaching, yet her ultimate goal was to work as a full time potter. After she had two children, she and her husband, Burton Isenstein, set up a production pottery studio.

Since 2002 all her work has been hand-built with pinch and coil technique. Each of her charming pots is one of a kind, individually hand formed and decorated with multiple layers of underglazes and glaze. The materials employed are food safe and water tight and intended to be used.

Nancy’s folksy and sometimes whimsical teapots, containers, vases and dishes with their fanciful vines, flowers and leaves are reminiscent of floral wallpaper.  With wonderful art nouveau and deco flourishes they remind us of a time when artists loved to represent such detail with historical accuracy.
