Nick Bernard has been a studio potter for over 30 years, and has exhibited his work extensively at galleries and national shows. He has been recognized by the Arizona Commission for the Arts, and won the Arizona Governors Art Award.  

Inspired by the classic pottery of ancient Greece, Japan, Africa, and the American Southwest, Nick considers the perfect shape as if it were a canvas, to decorate with texture, color, pattern in unique ways.

His pots are thrown earthenware with multiple firings of layers of colored slips and oxides.  The work continues to evolve, as Nick is always seeking to perfect his pots and make them new again.
