Tania Babb started in graphic design but has worked in clay since apprenticing with renowned South African ceramic sculptor, Barbara Jackson, in 1986. Tania now works out of her own studio/gallery in Cape Town, South Africa.

Her fascination with people and their relationships prompted her to capture a fleeting moment in porcelain clay, sculpting each entirely by hand: "Couples stand arm in arm; pets sit self-assured next to their owners on a couch, certain of a place in their hearts; women sit astride hulking African animals, totems of the power they have brought forth; women dance with wild abandon to music only they can hear, celebrating their freedom."

Her figures have a universal appeal and have been collected by fans all over the world.
