Chris Roberts-Antieau is a self-taught artist who did not do well in art classes as a student, but years later was fascinated by the raw childlike vision in her young son’s drawings and was inspired to get back into art. She started by making textile sculptures and art clothing, gradually working into wall pieces.
Her “fabric paintings” are composed from free-hand cut cloth shapes, stitched and appliquéd, like a quilt, and mounted behind glass in frames of her own making.
Chris’s art is about the joy and wonder and humor to be found around us every day, and it reminds us we can still be kids.
