Ojai, CA

A famous old Hollywood film, “Lost Horizons: The Valley of Shangri La” first exposed the Ojai Valley as a magical place. It is known for its artists, beauty of the mountains, mild temperatures and restorative powers that attract visitors all year round. Ojai is an easy drive from Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara. There are spas, golf courses, festivals, and the great outdoors to be enjoyed.
HumanArts Gallery is located in Ojai's historical district under shady Spanish arches in what's called "the Arcade". Interesting shops, restaurants, and plenty of free parking nearby make it an attractive day trip or weekend getaway. One notices immediately that there are no chain stores here!
It's been debated whether "Ojai" (pronounced ‘O hi’) means "the nest" or "moon" in the Chumash language. The Chumash Indians were early inhabitants of the valley. In any case, we feel very lucky to have landed here!
