Hallie Katz, whose jewelry making career has been gaining momentum since the seventies, works primarily with gold and gemstones in classic contemporary designs, on a custom design basis. One of her specialties is taking clients' diamonds out of old unworn, jewelry in order to create new fresh designs to be enjoyed once again. She particularly likes making unusual wedding rings.

Owner of HumanArts with husband, Stan, Hallie has been smitten with shiny metals and stones since high school when a jewelry class led to a serious interest which continued in college (Cal State Northridge) and beyond. She and Stan opened their own studio in Los Angeles, before moving to Ojai, where they taught jewelry making, sold tools and supplies, and had a gallery next door as well.
