Carmen Abelliera is a self-taught folk artist
who was inspired by her Cuban grandfather, an artist
who made things out of everyday objects and found materials.
Carmen is a full-time artist and is motivated by a
combination
of aesthetic, economic, and environmental reasons,
to make or paint something every day.
She is most well-known for her tribal motif painted
series of Art Cars, and her "tin-dolls" and
larger sculptures made from old printed, recycled tins.
Carmen Abelliera's
